what is an RMT?
All healthcare practitioners, including RMTs, are like flowers that have the same stem and leaves yet our petals are all of different colours, depending on what we have chosen to study after college.

Massage and hydrotherapy were promoted by Hippocrates. It was thought to prepare the body pre and post surgeries, pre/post fatalities, it was found to prepare athletes, warriors, stoneworkers, and politicians before and after stressful events. It was used by many ancient civilizations and has become recognized as a formal, scientifically proven healthcare practice used by RMT’s.
Massage therapists are regulated health care practitioners in Ontario. Our governing body is the CMTO. We are also regulated by the RHPA. Each province in Canada trains RMT’s differently. Ontario trained RMT’s are considered globally as extremely well trained healthcare practitioners in massage therapy and hydrotherapy.
Hippocrates and Gatafose used essential oils in their medical tool kits. Many villages today still use essential oils for their healthcare needs. City societies have begun to recognize how effective a small amount of essential oil is to healthcare. Essential oils are not greasy. It is the blood of a plant. The essence is watery in pure form and evaporates or penetrates into skin quickly. Sunlight ruins its effectiveness. Some can burn with sunlight.
